Medals
 

 NAVY CROSS  

Criteria: Extraordinary heroism in action against an enemy of the Rooks while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force or while serving with friendly foreign forces, and achieving an overall ranking of 1 in any arena.

 DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS

 Criteria: Heroism or extraordinary achievement above, and beyond the call of duty, while achieving an overall ranking of 5 or better in any arena.

 SILVER STAR
 
Criteria: Gallantry in action against an armed enemy of the Rooks or while serving with friendly forces with dedication and superior performance during main arena operations. To be awarded by the Squad Commanding Officer only.

 BRONZE STAR
 
Criteria: Heroic or meritorious achievement or service not involving participation in aerial flight. Awarded in lieu of the Combat Infantryman's Badge by the Commanding Officer to Rook naval ground forces.

 DEFENSE SUPERIOR SERVICE
 
Criteria: Superior service to the Rooks while assigned to a Joint Activity in a position of significant responsibility.

 DEFENSE MERITORIOUS SERVICE
 
Criteria: Non-combat meritorious achievement or service while assigned to Joint Activity.  Can be awarded to non squadron members.

 NAVY DISTINGUISHED SERVICE 
 
Criteria: Exceptionally meritorious service to the Rook Government in a duty of great responsibility, while achieving an arena ranking of 25 or better in any category.

Criteria: Heroic actions or meritorious service while participating in aerial flight.

 LEGION OF MERIT
 
Criteria: Exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Rooks, or VFA-169 Excalibur Squadron.

 NAVY GOOD CONDUCT
 
Criteria: Outstanding performance and conduct awarded at 6 months for active, and continued participation in main arena squad nights.

Ribbons


  COMBAT ACTION

Criteria: Awarded to members of the Rook Navy for combat action surface.  Qualifying personnel must have been in a ground or surface combat fire-fight, or action during which they were under enemy fire, and their performance under fire must have been satisfactory.  This award can be given by the Commanding Officer, and Commanding Officers of individual wings, and divisions within the squadron.

 
 NAVY UNIT COMMENDATION 

Criteria: Awarded to any qualifying unit of the Rook Navy that distinguishes itself by outstanding heroism in combat against a hostile foreign force or for extremely meritorious service not involving combat but in support of military operations.


 ROOK NAVY "E" 

Criteria: Awarded to active squadron members for a significant contribution during participation in a Friday night Aces High Squadron event. To be decided by a concensus of the entire Command Staff.

Proficiency Designators

Usage:  Qualification  designators allow command level officers, and planning tacticians to easily determine in what way resources can, and should be utilized during planned squadron operations

Determination:  Appointments will be made between individual squadron members, and qualified command level staff officers to take evaluation sorties for the purpose of classification.


Surface Warfare

Will be awarded when a member displays proficiency and confidence in multiple Ground Vehicles, Field Guns, and Surface Vessel Guns.


Air Warfare
   (Sub Designators B,Bd,F,Fa)

Will be awarded when a member displays proficiency and confidence in multiple Aircraft, to include Fighter, Attack, and Bombers.

            “B”  Designator awarded when member displays proficiency in level heavy     bomber operations either strategic, or tactical.

            “Bd”  Designator awarded when member displays proficiency in dive bombing operations.

             “F”  Designator awarded when member displays proficiency dog fighting skills.

             “Fa”  Designator awarded when member displays proficiency in ground attack operations.


Full Qualified

            AWSW no slash or other following designators

Example:

LCDR (SW/AW-B,Fa) 4440 = Lieutenant Commander that is Surface Warfare qualified and Air Warfare qualified in the sub designators of Heavy Bomber and Fighter Attack.  (
Still would be addressed as LCDR 4440)
